Job Description


Responsible for repairing and maintaining PM’S on various types of packaging, encapsulation machines and equipment in accordance with Nutra-Pharma SOP’S and manufacturers procedures and specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1) Maintenance, repairs, PM's, Retooling and training on all manufacturing machinery and equipment including support equipment;

2) Proficient and can train others on all major and encapsulation and support machines and equipment.

3) Able to efficiently perform packaging line maintenance and repairs including all machinery and suppler equipment.

4) Encapsulation equipment maintenance and repairs including all machinery

5) On time performance of preventative maintenance.

6) Ordering of all parts for the packaging/ encapsulation equipment and organization and stocking of spare parts including the upkeep of spare parts records.

7) Accurate record keeping and documentation of all repairs, maintenance, and service.

8) Training and qualification of operators for the setup and changeover of all manufacturing and packaging equipment.  

9) Damage reports as observed during maintenance.

10) Timely recommendations for equipment upgrades, modifications and replacement.



To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Nutra-Pharma Manufacturing of N.C. is a contract MFG/Packager supplying an indefinite number of packaging services to its customers. Due to this fact duties and requirements may change at any time and without other notice. Jobs and training may change, work load may increase based upon current corporate requirements, projections, estimates and opinions.

Complexity of Work: 


The ideal candidate will be deadline focused, detail oriented, well organized and self-motivated along with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and manage time efficiently.



· HS Diploma or GED required.

· Technical degree, 4 years related experience or qualified training equivalent training and experience.

Experience: Candidate should have the following experience:


· Knowledge of safety and an ability to follow all safety practices, both from verbal instruction as well as written instruction.

· Ability to remember verbal and written instruction and to show honesty in communicating with management and co-workers.

· Ability to change and retool the equipment with accuracy and efficiency.

· Ability to think critically regarding problems they encounter, taking correct action and using caution when using equipment or changing settings.

· Positive attitude and response to management when receiving constructive criticism and feedback on their performance.

· Awareness of the mechanical environment, ability to change incorrect habits in setup/operation without repeated instructions and reminders.

· Mechanical aptitude: the ability to make corrective actions and adjustments by relating the mechanical principles and physical forces of interdependent components and their separate functions.

· Precision and dexterity: the ability to manipulate adjustments, settings and parts to exact points and specifications with ease.

· Visual acuity: the ability to see small alignment and adjustment issues and understand the how these affect the operation of the equipment.

· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees.

· Ability to effectively communicate and carry on a variety of work related conversations in English with good comprehension.

· The ability to read and write various reports, damage reports, and complete associated paperwork.

· Good personal communication skills including accurate and succinct oral communication with supervisors and in telephone conversations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Considerable knowledge of English, spelling, grammar and math

· Considerable knowledge of computer, peripheral office equipment and word processing software such as MS Office, etc.

· Skill in handling multiple tasks at one time and able to prioritize accordingly

· Skill in dealing with difficult clients or customers

· Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written

· Ability to work independently on complex and confidential tasks

· Ability to handle stressful situations

· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees.
