As an Account Manager on our Employee Benefits team, you will work closely with the Account Executive(s) to implement client employee benefit strategy and programs and are responsible for managing the client service activity and day-to-day workflow on an assigned block of business. You will build and maintain strong client relationships in order to retain clients.
Functional Responsibilities and Duties
+ In conjunction with the Account Executive (AE), manage the client relationship and AHT client service activities
+ Interface effectively and confidently with clients at the HR Manager/Director level as well as the HR Benefit support level to understand the customer's overall objectives and requirements to assist in managing and servicing the benefit plan
+ Ensure all AHT services are implemented according to established project plans and all client deliverables meet quality standards
+ Strategic approach for new and renewing plans
+ Compliance requirements and issues, including SPD wrap documents, 5500 filings, PPACA, etc.
+ Carrier and vendor management
+ All aspects of executing Open Enrollment
+ Serve as the main client contact for issues or activities that the customer encounters with benefits programs and services
+ Develop mutually beneficial relationships with insurance carriers to generate optimal results for clients
+ Handle basic underwriting and funding issues and strategies. Escalate or request direction from AE on more complex situations
Qualifications and Skills
+ Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills
+ Excellent organizational and time management skills
+ Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point).
+ Ability to develop plans and solutions and act upon them and take responsibility for outcomes
+ Possess a supportive and responsive manner with internal staff and external customers
+ Ability to multi-task in complex working environment with accuracy and proficiency
+ 5+ years of related benefits industry experience
+ Hold unrestricted current and valid Washington Life/Health insurance license
+ High school diploma required
