This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Fiscal Operations.
The Accountant 3 for Fixed Assets is responsible for maintaining and reconciling equipment inventory, financial reporting and analysis, ensuring accuracy of financial records at the College and Tennessee College of Applied Technology, and supporting the Foundation.
Additionally, this position will perform various detail-focused accounting activities involving the reconciliation of high volume transactional information, analysis of accounting data and preparing financial reports for internal use and to meet external and regulatory/audit requirements.
The position is expected to:

This role will be responsible for the following:
Prepares, examines, or analyzes accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy,
completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
Verify payments of vendor and tag equipment,conduct surprise inventory monitoring, assist with missing inventory investigations, complete reports to assist with insurance documents, prepare vehicle report for Physical Plant//TBR and conduct annual inventory.
Maintains and reconciles capitalized equipment inventory and reconcile equipment accounting information to purchase order in the financial system.
Develops, maintains, and monitors aging reports,trend analysis, charts, and graphs to include preparing and analyzing detailed
accounting, statistical, and narrative financial reports and statements.
Processes bookstore invoices and prepare bookstore journal vouchers and payment request related to departmental charges and expenses.
Assists with financial activity closeouts and financial audits to include preparing year end schedules and supplemental reports as required
Ensures the integrity of financial statements by reviewing and monitoring financial transactions and journal vouchers.
May perform other related duties as assigned.

Fully understand GAAP accounting principles.
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field from an accredited college required. CPA preferred.
Three years of recent experience in accounting, budgeting, forecasting, or analysis of business operations.
1-3 years of Banner experience
1-3 years experience in Higher Education
