The Administrative Assistant (SCA) assists the Service Coordinators in providing quality services to families enrolled in the Early Intervention Program. This individual provides administrative support services to external Program Coordinators and Service Coordinators.
Essential Functions
+ Accurately collects referral information and enters information into EI Database
+ Assigns cases to Service Coordinators
+ Maintains daily provider communication systems (i.e., e-mail spreadsheet)
+ Creates, processes and maintains confidential client records
+ Maintains accurate information on cases and regional providers in SNJPC EI database
+ Copies, faxes and mails portions of client’s files
+ Files client record information in on-site and off-site facilities
+ Provides services in a culturally competent manner
+ Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities to Perform Essential Functions:
+ High School Diploma/GED
+ Basic computer skills necessary/advanced preferred (Word, Excel)
+ Good organizational and planning skills; ability to prioritize multiple tasks
+ Ability to work effectively with families
+ Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
+ Ability to work with diverse populations; demonstration of cultural competence
+ Willingness and ability to work as a team member
+ Understanding of NJ Early Intervention philosophy and procedures
+ Successful completion of system training including orientation and procedural safeguards
+ Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Requirements
+ Must be able to see to read documents and hear well enough to communicate with others
+ Must be able to write, type on a computer, and use a telephone
+ Must be able to operate a motor vehicle
+ Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds
+ Additional requirements to be determined with input from Director and HR

Work Environment:
Occasionally travels to sites where traffic, weather, and other environmental conditions may be encountered; otherwise works in a climate-controlled professional office environment generally free from hazards and other adverse working conditions
