The Advisory Services Architect ("ASA") will work on a global team that fixates on high-value solution sales from a professional services vantage and provides valuable input into potential repeatable offerings.

The candidate will possess knowledge of the solution sales process and outcomes. The ASA will collaborate with the Advisory Services Manager ("ASM") throughout the origination, solutioning, and teaming to close new business for targeted services sales opportunities. Proficiency in a broad range of infrastructure use cases including, but not limited to, Enterprise Cloud, Tier 1 applications, VDI, datacenter migrations, managed services, devops, and operational readiness. The Advisory Services Architect is expected to bring a strong foundation in enterprise infrastructure knowledge while working together with the sales pursuit team to effectively design and blueprint technical and business process solutions that exceed client expectations.

Role

* Clients will include Strategic and Global Accounts only and within the Americas.

* Primary focus will be Cloud, Hybrid Cloud, devops, and related infrastructure. From time-to-time lead or establish proof of concepts or workshops for potential Services engagements in a presales fashion.

* Assist the sales pursuit team and Advisory Services Manager with new and existing clients to uncover their business objective, painting a vision for how these objectives could be obtained from our solution that includes a balance of products, support, and services.

* Emphasize solution-based design via analyses of client's needs and on technical knowledge of product and solution capabilities and limitations.

* Propose the optimal solution or assist clients in minimizing options, based on client's needs, solution specifications, and applicable regulations.

* Work with the Advisory Services Manager to develop the statement of work and level of effort for prospective clients. (Note: The AS Manager owns the SOW process; the AS Architect provides technical expertise and scope).

* Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information, such as selling strategies or marketing information

* Identify repeatable solutions and work with Practice Development to prioritize, review, and contribute resulting services toolkits.

* Develop and deliver presentations to prospective clients including solution demonstrations.

* Reports to regional or global Advisory Services Director and matrixed to regional Advisory Services as needed.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

* Develops strategies, methods, policies, and best practices for Nutanix Advisory Services.

* Acts as a key contributor in complex and critical client environments.

* Teams with Advisory Services Manager and sales pursuit team on strategic high-value opportunities where a comprehensive solution offering is the key to success for differentiating Nutanix from competing offerings or business as usual.

* Liaison with Practice Development and Advisory Services in toolkit origination, review, market need, and optimization.

* Develops and cultivates strong client relationships fostering a "Clients for Life" relationship.

* Provides presales support for Level of Effort (LOE) and coordinates the development of strategic practice responses to an RFP

* May represent the company as the principal client contact and often performs a leadership role.

* Primary focus on Nutanix Global or Enterprise Select Clients with typical services pursuit value of $150K or more.

* May be responsible for achieving and maintaining high client satisfaction (CSAT).

* Nutanix NPP and NPX certification desired, along with relevant domain expertise.

Necessary Skillsets

* Mastery in deploying/utilizing virtualization-based solutions (5+ years). Solid understanding of Hyperconverged Infrastructure ("HCI") and what sets it apart from traditional 3-tier solutions.

* Extensive private & public cloud experience (AWS, GCP, Azure, VMware), having architected and/or sold a large cloud initiative including self-service, automation, and orchestration.

* Have worked with containers and/or container management toolsets such as Dockers, Kubernetes, etc.

* Has programming experience and can code proficiently in at least one of the following languages/frameworks:

* Python

* .Net, Visual Studio, Powershell, or associated Microsoft DE (Development Environments)

* Javascript

* Proficient with and comfortable leveraging a variety of REST API solutions

* Has DevOps experience with and can demonstrate proficiency in one or more (but not inclusive):

* Git

* Jenkins

* Ansible

* K8s

* Pivotal

* Openstack

* Fluent in networking architectures and technologies and able to speak intelligently with network subject matter experts about how to configure their networks when using a variety of infrastructure technologies and security implications.

* Prior consulting / client facing experience in Fortune 500 and Global Clients, preferably with pre-sales experience
