Job Description

The Architectural Sales Representative will call on the A&D community in Nashville, TN and nearby markets to influence the specification process and position Nichiha?s products for use on commercial projects. He/She will effectively utilize time and resources to increase sales output. This outside sales position will be an experienced commercial sales professional, ideally from the building materials or manufacturing industries. Success will rely heavily on one's ability to follow through on an extended sales process that involves many players.


+ Interface and build relationships with Architects and other players in the design community

+ Influence the specification process with Specification Writers/Creators

+ Build a prominent specification position for Nichiha products

+ Evaluate effectiveness of current sales strategies and programs

+ Identify projects where Nichiha has been specified or submitted

+ Create and maintain a project pipeline in

+ Present AIA/CES courses to Architects and assist in development of new AIA CES offerings

+ project-start-up, dealer assistance, contractor assistance, problem resolution, etc.

+ Manage the sales process through dealer or distribution channels

+ Collaborate with Field Technical personnel to develop a trained and consistent installer base

+ Participate in national promotional/trade show activities as required


+ Sales Cycle Management - Effectively managing an extended sales cycle. Superb ability to follow through

+ Communication Skills - Superb written and verbal communication skills

+ Multitasking - Ability to self-manage and manage multiple priorities simultaneously

+ Professional - Demeanor and appearance suggest competency, credibility and expertise in the field.

+ Sales - Convince, influence and promote Nichiha products to architects, designers and specifiers


+ Understanding of the commercial construction process

+ Understanding of building products sales channels and typical flow of products through distribution channels to final application

+ Ability to anticipate construction market and client opportunities and respond appropriately

+ General understanding or strong ability to learn how to read technical drawings

+ Understanding or strong ability to learn the architectural specification process

+ Knowledge of CRM, specifically preferred

+ Ability to travel 50%+ (approximately 3 nights away per week)


+ Bachelor?s Degree is strongly preferred for this position

+ Minimum of 3 years experience selling building materials

+ Prior outside sales experience

+ Experienced user of Microsoft Office products
