+ Directs all Communications and Signal maintenance, and provides cost effective maintenance which ensures safe, reliable and efficient Rail service.
+ Reviews and comments on design and specifications for the construction of Communication and Signal capital projects and infrastructure improvements and programs.
+ Represents the Infrastructure Engineering Department and NJ TRANSIT at meetings, presentations, public hearings and Board meetings.
+ Directs the management of departmental needs, including all personnel related matters. Provides direction to subordinates, and establishes safety guidelines for work practices and procedures.
+ Establishes standards for Communication and Signal construction and maintenance. Ensures standardized inventory, improved reliability, safety and customer satisfaction by improving performance of the operation.
+ Directs and assigns the preparation, review and approval of various technical project reports, status reports, Board items, cost estimates and departmental policies and procedures.
+ Directs and coordinates all activities within the Communications and Signals Department.
Education and Experience
+ Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related area and nine (9) years of experience in design, construction and/or maintenance of railraod infrastructure - with an emphasis in Rail Communications and Signals, to include a minimum of three (3) years in a supervisory role. One year of experience can be substituted for each year of education required.
+ This position may require service to be performed outside normal business hours.
