Overview OVERALL SUMMARY - POSITION DESCRIPTION The Operations/Budget Specialist is responsible for managing media budgets, media invoices and working with client finance person through the collection of data and assessment of plan v. buy v. invoice. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY include, but are not limited to: Budget Management Proper management and reconciliation of all account budgets in accordance with media authorizations Reconcile budgets as they change due to savings and moves Client & Internal Relationships Develop and maintain relationships with agency personnel related to budget management processes and deliverables Liaison with client divisional finance team Work collaboratively across internal planning and finance teams, informing and requesting data as necessary Strategic Thinking & Leadership Ensure key information is provided to appropriate individuals and teams regarding budget management issues Is approachable and solution-oriented when presented with problems/issues by staff and team Breaks down problems and issues into critical parts which can be resolved May be responsible for constructing and delivering accurate, honest and timely performance management documents Communications Skills Express oneself clearly and concisely in oral communications Write in a clear, compelling and concise manner Organize ideas and information logically and sequentially Develop financial reports that are clear, error-free and on-time EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field 1-3 years of financial reporting, variance analysis and commentary reporting experience Advertising agency or professional services experience preferred Advanced computer skills (MS Office), excellent Excel forecasting skills Exposure to DDS (Acctpak, Netpak, Printpak and Spotpak), ability to learn new financial software/databases DEVELOPMENT GOALS: Experience needed to proceed to the next level: Demonstrated leadership through ownership of assigned tasks and responsibilities Regarded internally at Carat as a go to person Displays sound business judgment internally Strong ability to manage crisis or red-flag situations Demonstrated ability to recognize and appropriately elevates issues/problems Motivation to participate in agency development and new business Excellent client report card Serves as a Carat ambassador and demonstrates grace in challenging internal/external scenarios
