Role Summary

* The National Advertising Production Specialist manages the day-to-day advertising programs for Audi of America. This primarily includes managing the creative agency, Venables Bell & Partners, to obtain provocative advertising programs that are on strategy, innovative, and on budget. This individual must effectively challenge proposed budgets, ideas, and creative executions to bring the best advertising product to the marketplace. A strong understanding of brand tone will be required to manage creative work that is consistent with the needs of the General Manager and Director of Marketing. This person will also coordinate with other business managers within AoA to warrant consistency in campaigns, maintain the Corporate Identity guidelines for AoA, and act as a brand steward in managing weekly creative review meetings. Collaboration with multiple agency partners and internal colleagues (marketing, sales operations, after sales, legal, finance, etc.) is critical to success. In addition, launch management, management of the production budget including agency fees, and all estimates for advertising programs with great attention to detail will be required.

Role Responsibilities

Manage Creative Development with Agencies

* Act as the strategic marketing lead for Audi of America. Develop creative briefs for the brand and product campaigns

* Management of both Venables Bell & Partners for all national advertising creative and budget programs

* Manage the development of creative materials by effectively communicating AoA feedback to the agency.

* Champion new ideas and push for innovation in advertising programs

* Liaise with legal team and understand all legal implications of ad messages. Represent legal interests on shoots to ensure adherence to legal's production requirements.

* Managing two onsite agency personnel

Budget Management

* Manage the required competitive-bid process which includes leading the agency development of a bid book and ensuring it is accurate, evaluating bids for all efficiencies and reviewing materials with the Finance Controller and Purchasing department.

* Budget management including collaboration on annual production budget development, tracking and processing of all related estimates and invoices.

Agency Scope Management

* Plan the agency scope and production budget during the Planning Round Process

* Manage the agency scope and reconciling during the fiscal year either semi-annually or quarterly.

Experience

* 5-7 years in advertising or marketing experience at either a full-service agency or within an automotive marketing department.

* 3-5 years of experience working at an advertising agency in an account role with production management experience across multiple advertising areas to include TV, print, Out-of-Home, Digital banners, etc.

Education

* Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Advertising or related field or equivalent experience

General Skills

* Manage new car advertising campaigns for the Marketing Department

* Act as the marketing strategic lead for all marketing campaign. This includes writing agency briefs and providing feedback on creative to ensure that the advertising delivers work that is on strategy

* Lead on the cascade of new car campaigns and evaluate all partner agency work for brand/campaign consistency

* Support General Manager of Brand Marketing with presentations for senior management with Audi AG, Audi of America (AoA), and the annual brand marketing plan

* Coordinate the distribution and licensing of Audi of America advertising to other National Sales Companies outside North America

* Management of Venables Bell & Partners, AoA's agency for record, for all advertising scope, creative development and budget oversight

* Lead on the agency scope/production planning and reconciliation process

* Manage the development of creative campaigns including attending production shoots. In many cases, these are high profile campaigns that have substantial media investments. (eg. Super Bowl and Emmys)

* Work collaboratively with internal and external/agency partners to ensure brand campaign consistency in strategic foundation, tone, feature priorities, Corporate Identity guidelines, look/feel, etc.

* Process Corporate Identity and logo approval requests within a timely manner which requires an in-depth understanding of logo requirements and of the brand look and tone

* Manage the required competitive-bid process. This includes leading the agency development of a bid book and insuring it is accurate, evaluating bids for all efficiencies and reviewing materials with the Finance Controller and Purchasing departments

* Seek out efficiencies and cost saving measures in the production process including an understanding of talent cost and requirements, music production and dubs/traffic process

* Budget management including collaboration on annual production budget development, tracking and processing of all related estimates and invoices

* Directly manage one onsite agency representative including workload management and training

* Liaise with legal team and understand all legal implications of ad message. Represent legal interests on shoots to ensure adherence to legal's production requirements

* Prior experience working on automotive accounts or similar categories (telecom, retail, luxury goods) with national and regional/retail campaigns (desired)

Work Flexibility

* Expected travel of approximately 10% within a given month
