**General Summary:**


The candidate will work in Qualcomm’s automotive systems team. This team works on mapping Snapdragon™ SoCs to digital cockpit and In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) & Autonomous Driving (AD) solutions from leading car OEMs. The daily tasks will involve engaging with engineers from Qualcomm’s customers’ and partners’ system/architecture teams to map their GPU, Display use cases to Qualcomm’s hardware platforms. The goal of the mapping is to ensure customers’ and partners‘ use case feasibility achieving use-case KPIs including performance, accuracy and power. Work will involve collaborating closely with customers and partners helping customers understand Qualcomm’s Automotive SoC’s capabilities and helping them map their use-cases to the SoCs


An extensive knowledge of Automotive use-cases involving GPU and Display is essential. The desired candidate is preferred to have strong knowledge of SoC HW architecture, vision, pixel rendering, display, image processing, and compute flows to the hardware IPs, specifically leveraging use of GPU and Display HW. The candidate is also expected to have excellent communication skills and the ability to manage technical discussions with customer and partner teams.


**Minimum Qualifications:**


• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.


OR


Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 7+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.


OR


PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.


**Preferred Qualifications:**


Ideal Candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the following areas in the Bachelor’s (Master’s preferred) in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering. The desired skillsets are


+ Extensive experience with and knowledge of GPU (both GL graphics rendering and general-purpose GPU programming and fixed function pipeline architecture for Display HW are must-have)


+ Understanding of system and hardware micro-architecture with a focus on overall embedded multimedia processor design, including Camera ISP, Video HW, DSP.


+ Good knowledge of principles and theory related to Deep Learning related to GP-GPU is nice to have


+ Excellent knowledge of Automotive Infotainment and ADAS use-cases.


+ Ability to work across diverse teams within Qualcomm and engage with customers


+ Excellent oral and written communication skills.


+ Experience working with Automotive customers would be a distinct advantage with a strong focus on clear communication & strong inter-personal skills.


**Principal Duties and Responsibilities:**


+ Interact with customers and identify customers’ GPU and Display features to map customer’s use of SOC optimized for Qualcomm Auto SoC and its capabilities. Analyze and provide the appropriate feasibility, bandwidth, performance, and accuracy metrics. Be seen by the customer as the Qualcomm subject matter expert in these areas. Build collaborative relationships with engineers and product managers in customers and Tier-1s.


+ Interact, and drive respective internal GPU and Display IP teams to provide the direction on the future evolution of the Automotive focused on auto use cases and requirements, and optimum definition for the next-gen auto SoCs.


+ Lead early prototyping or pre-design award stage implementations with internal or external party (such as AD fusion prototyping work or other GPU compute benchmark/optimization exercise specific to automotive applications). In-depth analysis and optimization of GPU and Display use cases aligned with Qualcomm automotive roadmap cadence for IVI and ADAS.


+ Evaluation of 3rd party automotive applications (such as 3D map rendering, any proprietary GPGPU compute algorithm(s) targeted for ADAS use cases) requiring use of GPU, Display hardware


+ Apply his/her knowledge of GPU & Display architectures to drive the automotive roadmap for future enhancement to Qualcomm Auto SoCs


+ Experience working with Adreno GPU SDK is a plus


+ Loading and DDR bandwidth analysis of the 3rd party algorithms used in Automotive applications leveraging GPU compute blocks. Identify bottlenecks at the system and sub-block level at the Snapdragon SOC and drive resolution to meet customer needs. Provide recommendations for next-generation HW.


+ Work with Product managers to support product-level decision making.
