The Building Maintenance Mechanic II: A motivated self-starter with high levels of initiative. Responsible for supporting and maintaining the Carlsbad, GMP manufacturing facility, utility systems, including HVAC, RODI, Compressed Gases, Chillers, and other building systems. Respond to utility and equipment related alarms, and maintenance issues during manufacturing campaigns. Identify areas of potential, to improve performance and compliance. Uphold safety procedures and safe practices. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for manufacturing support equipment during shift. The role will also be responsible for providing maintenance support for 5 buildings, general maintenance such as small carpentry projects, etc. Documents all work in CMMS and participates in the “On-Call” duties of providing 24/7 Maintenance support on rotating schedule.
Colleagues will operate, maintain & troubleshoot all production equipment associated within the department to prevent and/or correct mechanical & electrical breakdowns within a GMP manufacturing plant. Associates must have the initiative to lead, participate in plant problem-solving teams, ability to apply problem-solving techniques, communicate optimally, demonstrate leadership & plan effectively. Interested individuals must be able to work in a fast paced & dynamic environment. Must be able to work well in a team-based environment with limited supervision, and be available to work any shift, weekends and holidays as required.

+ Background in industrial, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing
+ Knowledge of & capable of performing special technical skill (electrical troubleshooting, basic PLC skills, machining, welding tasks, high pressure gases)
+ Knowledge of electrical installation & construction, AC/DC motor drives, gearboxes and pneumatics systems.
+ Knowledge of or be willing and able to train in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems
+ Support continuous improvement programs through participation in plant efficiency programs
+ Comply and actively participate in all safety and environmental policies, procedures and programs.
+ Working in /on Cleanrooms and BSL environments.
+ Work from controlled documents in a GMP / FDA regulated environment.
+ Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or GED; Associate degree preferred.
+ Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience supporting a GMP Facilities operations
+ Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience working in/on classified Bioscience lab environments.
+ Proficient with computer programs System Controls / BMS Applications
+ Must be able to move up to 50 lbs.
+ Experience with Windows based PCs
+ Must be able to work well in a team-based environment with limited supervision, and be available to work any shift, weekends and holidays as required
+ The ability to lead projects with limited oversight.
