What will your day look like?


You will lead the solutioning and requirements gathering process from ideation until execution for medium to large sized company directed initiatives. The primary focus of this role is to facilitate the discovery process with the project owner and key stakeholders to translate ideas into business and technical solutions. The role is responsible for identifying, eliciting, and documenting requirements for all business and technical groups, including third-party vendors when applicable. The role will work closely with project management to assist in overall project management, planning, monitoring and reporting. In addition, the Business Analyst will work with the Technical Business Analysts to break down the business requirements to the appropriate development groups and scrum teams. The Business Analyst will be engaged throughout the initiative to document business requirement changes to keep them current with the final product. General direction is received from the Sr. Manager Enterprise Portfolio Management.

+ Gains consensus and approval from all key stakeholders on business requirements documentation


+ Develops high-level requirements for cross-functional business and technology groups


+ Analyzes business problems and identifies solutions that meet business goals


+ Collaborates or escalates as required to address business or technical issues related to the project


+ Assists project manager on status reports, meeting expected timelines and estimates of human and financial resources to complete the project


+ Works directly with technical business analysts to break down high-level business requirements to the appropriate development groups and scrum teams


+ Creates process maps to communicate business flows


+ Negotiates and communicates priority for business scope requests


+ Works directly with a project manager, technical business analysts, product owner, business stakeholders, clients, designers, developers, and engineers to produce a business requirements document


+ Assists software quality assurance on the development of the project test strategy and acceptance criteria


+ Maintaining functional and non-functional requirements documentation


Adhere to and ensure compliance of all business transactions with policy and process of the Bank Secrecy Act. Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal laws, company procedures and policies. Maintains integrity and ethics in all actions and conversations with or regarding credit union members and their accounts; complies with Privacy Act directives.


What makes you a great fit?


You’ll be a great fit if you have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Marketing or related fields preferred, and you have:


+ 4+ years demonstrated business analyst experience or equivalent technical role


+ Strong understanding of Business Analyst processes and practices


+ CBAP (a plus)


+ Knowledge or certification in Scrum or agile software development and Waterfall Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)


+ SAFe Agilist, Certified Scrum Master or Certified Product Owner (preferred)


+ Proficient in MS Project, Visio, and Office Suite


+ Proven ability to execute on project deliverables


+ Technical aptitude and ability to work collaboratively with a team


+ Strong written and oral communication skills


+ Demonstrated ability to influence without authority


+ Effective public speaking and presentation skills


+ Excellent organizational and time management skills


+ Ability to balance multiple priorities and shift priorities as needed


+ Ability to proactively initiate, develop, and maintain effective working relationships with members of the organization and the firm


+ Strong ability to consistently anticipate users’ needs through an in depth understanding of a users’ requirements and desires


+ Excellent ability to relay complex information to business and technology resources others and have it interpreted correctly, presenting in a way that enhances understanding for large scale complex projects


+ Develop solutions that align with Alliant strategic goals and objectives with a focus to improve the member experience whenever possible


+ Ability to facilitate, communicate and have influence with vendors to achieve deliverables within the scope of the project


+ Capable of providing project management skills to coordinate the delivery project deliverables and reporting
