MORI Associates is seeking a Business Development and Capture Lead to support our strategic and growth market initiatives. This position will be intimately involved with pursuits across the full continuum of the Business Development (BD)/ Capture/ Proposal process. The position will report to the Vice President of Business Development and will play an integral role in executing MORI’s strategic growth initiatives.
This position is a remote hire in Southern California, preferably in the San Diego, CA area. It is deliberately located within a reasonable distance from MORI’s regional headquarters at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, CA. There will be an occasional requirement to travel to the MORI Associates Headquarters in Rockville, MD, the Hampton Roads, VA area, and/or client/teammate locations for proposal team meetings. For a highly qualified candidate, a consideration could be made for remote work in a geographic area other than Southern California, preferably near another major US Navy/DoD center of gravity or in the National Capital Region.
Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Responsible for leading capture activity and efforts for assigned opportunities associated with the US Navy and related DoD/Federal organizations
+ Help develop plans, strategies, value propositions, and business cases to grow in MORI’s current markets and to expand MORI’s presence in DoD, C6ISR, and National Security Space markets
+ Contribute to tasks associated with BD and Capture such as Requests for Information, data calls, teaming deliberations, capability gap analyses, probability of win and price-to-win deliberations, gate reviews, color team reviews, etc.
+ Generate related white papers and PowerPoint briefings as required or directed
+ 5+ years’ business development and/or capture management experience in pursuit of Federal contracts
+ In-depth knowledge of US Navy, NAVWAR, other DoD, DHS and the IC
+ Experience with Information Technology (IT), Cybersecurity, and/or Media and Communications is desirable
+ Completion of an industry-recognized Federal proposal writing or proposal management course of instruction is a plus
+ A strong personal and professional network across the breadth of current and future markets and clients is essential
+ Former senior military leader or DoD civilian is a plus
+ Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
+ High level of motivation
+ Able to work well individually as well as collaboratively in a team environment
+ Self-initiation and flexibility to occasionally adjust workday to requirements of Federal clients, teammates, and MORI leaders across several time zones
+ Strong skills working with both internal and external proposal resources
+ Ability to manage more than one activity or pursuit simultaneously, in a fast-moving environment
+ Ability to plan and prioritize; effective time management
+ Detail-oriented; sound judgment
+ Working familiarity with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
+ Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and Google Docs
+ Familiarity with the following online tools: DelTek GovWin IQ, System for Award Management (SAM), GSA E-library
+ Familiarity with online collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams
+ Baccalaureate Degree
+ Master’s Degree a plus
You must be able to pass a Public Trust investigation by the U.S. government; eligible for TS/SCI clearance
