The Patient Access Clerk is responsible for all clerical, communications, and data processing activities pertaining to the registering and scheduling of out-patients to the facility and activities pertaining to the accurate charge entry, statistical recording, records maintenance, filing and referral & management processes of these patients. The position requires the ability to prioritize, multi-task and work with frequent interruptions. Puts forth an attitude towards our patients, visitors and fellow staff in all areas which is consistent with the Medical Centers mission, goals, policies and procedures. Maintains personal growth and development to keep skills in line with job requirements and assists fellow employees in the department with the task of keeping their skills in line as well.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent. Must have clerical or secretarial experience, preferably in a hospital or health related environment and possesses typing skills. Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred
