Assists the Registered Nurse in providing direct, indirect,and non-patient care responsibilities. Assists patients in dressing/undressing, bathing, or eating. Performs EKG's, collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and gathers vital signs. Provides clerical support for the patient care unit including transcription, record keeping, and departmental communications. High School diploma or equivalent required with prior hospital/unit secretary experience. Acute care experience preferred. State and Unit Secretary Certification desirable. Acute Care experience preferred previous hospital/unit secretary experience.
Education and/or experience in phlebotomy/ekg required or current student in an accreditied nursing degree program and have completed at least one one inpatient clinical rotation.
