Analyzes, abstracts and codes demographics, patient and cancer related information, and treatment and staging information from the medical records on all cancer cases seen and or diagnosed at designated facility. Identifies eligibility of cancer patients in the registry. Works directly with the Director and physicians to monitor the quality of the registry and ensure compliance with ACoS CoC standards and with other regulatory agencies including NJDOH requirements. Coordinates and monitors activity necessary to comply with ACoS CoC standards.
+ Education: Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in health related field (required), health information (preferred)
+ Licensure/Certifications: CTR Required
+ Minimum of 2 years’ experience in cancer registry.
+ Knowledge of American College of Surgeons’ commission on cancer, TJC, DHHS, federal and HIPAA rules and regulations.
