Job Description

We are looking for a Catering Manager to join our team. This position will be based out of our home office in San Francisco’s sunny Mission district and reports to Smitten’s Events and Catering Director. The ideal candidate will be experienced in handling a wide range of tasks and will be able to work independently with little supervision.About You

Responsibilities - Catering

  • Own the execution of catering events from start to finish, including churning, scooping and serving ice cream
  • Safely operate Brrr ice cream machine and remain compliant with hazardous materials, health, and fire department officials and standards
  • Direct a team of on-site Brrristas from set-up to breakdown
  • Train new and existing Brrristas on best practices for safety and creating the Smitten experience
  • Serve as a brand ambassador and execute all out-of-store marketing events, including sampling events and donor/community events
  • Coordinate with General Managers and shop team to plan for product and staffing
  • Generate visual content of Catering events for use in sales and social media
  • Collaborate with Director of Catering and Events to drive the catering business

Responsibilities - Special Projects & Merchandising

  • Serve as a Brand Ambassador at events providing follow-up notes to ensure we improve or continue to do things effectively
  • Generate content for Marketing and Operations teams from Brand Ambassador events
  • Take on additional Marketing and Operations projects during catering off-season
  • Manage the fulfillment of Retail Merchandise orders for all shops
  • Order business cards for shops, GMs and Capp team
  • Log and maintain marketing materials to distribute to shops – coordinating re-orders with marketing and finance before purchasing.
  • Manage the fulfillment of retail merchandise for online orders
  • Manage the fulfillment of all gift card orders from donations, to online orders to recovery coins.


  • Exceptional organizational and planning skills and a strong commitment to ensuring events, projects and programs are proactively managed and delivered on-time in a professional quality manner
  • Innovative thinker with a creative eye for design and merchandising
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team and work collaboratively with a diverse group of individuals
  • Creative and results driven approach to managing special projects
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, analytical and technical skills
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs (Brrr machines are heavy!)
  • Must have a valid CA Driver’s License and clean driving record
  • Authorized to work in the United States
