Central Alert Team-RN full time and part time-New exciting opportunity-Gettysburg Hosp
Under general supervision of the Manager Quality and Clinical Improvement review, administer, coordinate and support the System-wide 24/7 Central Alert system. Using advanced clinical assessment skills and knowledge with human response to life threatening problems, receive and screen care alerts by real time review of the patient electronic health record for early identification of protocol driven interventions. Utilizing nursing diligence, communicate for action as appropriate, related to alert and record identified order set and care protocol interventions. Working remotely and collaboratively, acts as a real time clinical support for the HELP team, bedside nursing and/or physician/ACP on patient conditions that require immediate attention.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The following are essential job accountabilities:
+ Diligent review of electronic health record systems data and protocol driven alerts for screening of necessary and appropriate interventions, using clinical assessment and knowledge skill and pre-determined/defined order set(s).
+ Real time identification of missed opportunity or care gaps related to alert.
+ Timely and appropriate communication of identified and related assessment to appropriate clinical staff and/or HELP team.
+ Professional communication verbal/written of identified findings and interventions.
+ Maintains a thorough knowledge and understanding of evidence based/best practice.
+ Utilize strong decision making, systems thinking and computer literacy skills in a remote practice environment, to assist in support of coordinated and timely patient care intervention.
+ Virtual ---rounding--- regarding patient assignment and alerts.
+ Follows escalation process/procedure to address real-time care concerns.
+ Revises and monitors educational materials to insure that they are coordinated, understandable and meet the program standards.
+ Protects patient confidentiality by promoting professional staff communications.
+ In downtime, follows a set procedure for review and decision making of incidental findings and the incidental findings registry.

Pennsylvania RN license required
Minimum 2 years bedside acute care Emergency Department or Critical Care experience required to be considered for an interview
