The Scientific Data Consumption Product Line (SDC) provides a combination of technology, infrastructure, software and personnel to aid large scale scientific data consumption and computing comprising of the Scientific Data Platform, Modeling and Machine Learning Platforms, High Performance Computing (HPC) workflows, and “experience” products such as visualization, modeling workbenches, and analytics development environments.
The Data Products – Cloud Solutions Lead is accountable for overseeing the technical design and delivery of a range of products in support of data engineering and consumption including both in-house and COTS platforms and experience products.
This technical role requires deep knowledge and experience in computer science, SaaS and PaaS. This role requires a thorough comprehension of data consumption approaches and platforms that supporting a broad range of research activities including data onboarding, data pipelines, machine learning and clouds services. The position will require a high level of familiarity and comfort working with the enterprise teams, product teams and research organization.
+ Work with Product Managers, Product Architects to define, design and deliver APIs and platform integration with 3rd party systems.
+ Partner with Product Manager/Product Owner to drive implementation and rollout for products support model.
+ Work with Product Managers, Enterprise Architects to define, design and deliver scalable application and data security solution.
+ Providing hands-on leadership for the squad/s to ensure on time, on cost and to quality iterations of products
+ Drive delivery agile focused best practices across the team and ensure adherence to operating model standards
+ Technical owner for SDLC documentation
+ Work with cross product teams to surface blockers and resolve dependencies.
+ Work with DevOps and Testing teams to develop and implement automated pipelines.
+ Surface gaps and risks to product leadership.
+ Measure success and value created by the delivery teams and act on metrics to continuously improvement the overall team velocity and quality
+ Collaborating with other product and technical leaders in SDC to integrate technologies across the IT organization
+ Drive adoption and support the use of scientific data related platform and experience products
+ Identifying key opportunities to provide value to the scientific organization by architecting and delivering novel software solutions to complex and relevant scientific problems in discovery research
+ Pinpointing and addressing critical gaps in the platforms, vetting potential technologies, and informing business impact-driven decisions on software and infrastructure
+ B.Sc. in computer science, engineering or scientific discipline
+ Minimum of 5 years in information technology support of the life sciences/pharmaceutical industry or other high technology industries
+ Minimum of 3 years working on AWS services like S3, Glue, Sagemaker, Redshift, IAM, Lambda, API Gateway
+ Worked in SDLC or supporting products in a regulated environment. Ability to architect, engineer, optimize and maintain software solutions to solve complex scientific problems
+ Ability to lead multiple teams to deliver software products.
+ Thorough comprehension of technologies in support of data engineering and enabling data science workflows.
+ Experience with Cloud technologies in particular Amazon web Services
+ Leading development of full stack applications.
+ Has worked with Web Services and RESTful APIs
+ Thorough comprehension of hybrid-cloud architectures, services, and deployments
+ Troubleshooting issues in enterprise applications
+ Demonstrated ability to clearly convey technical and non-technical information verbally and in writing
+ Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of professionals globally
+ Experience in configuration, tuning, deployment of Application/Web servers such as Tomcat etc.
+ Knowledge of development on High Performance Computing system
+ Knowledge of UI design particularly for scientific computation and visualization
+ Passionate in driving continuous improvement to improve delivery efficiency and practices
+ Drive to deliver reusable and configurable solutions to enable the product line vision
+ Keen interest in cloud and evolving technologies to help design, architect and build better solutions for our Company
