Job Description

Our Co-mail Operator assists in running entire line and directing crew in binderies producing a component of the end product as opposed to having the entire end product to effect.


* Ensures that production goals are met.

* Troubleshoots problems to maintain quality standards and to keep binding line equipment in running condition and request/perform maintenance as required.

* Pulls and inspects hourly run samples and notifies the Supervisor in the event quality standards are not being met.

* Cleans, lubricates and maintains assigned machine to ensure its optimum operation.

* May provide training for new team members.

* Adheres to and promote all safety policies and procedures.

* Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.

* Daily operation of Co-Mail line in the most efficient manner possible.

* Perform make-ready as follows

* Maverick/ink jet

* Pockets/Pocket loaders

* Mailer/Gluer

* Rima

* Strappers

* Ensure proper versioning of Co-Mail product.

* Ensure that all mail is handled per postal rules and regulations

* Ensure all quality standards for Co-Mail product are met.

* Operate and monitor Datamerge computer system as needed.

* Direct crew as needed to meet production needs.

* Assist with relieving crew for break when possible

* Perform and keep detailed maintenance logs

* Keep daily shift logs noting shift counts, crew members, any shift notes, or anything else deemed appropriate.

* must be willing to work 4 crew, 12 hour shifts

* Perform additional tasks as assigned by Co-Mail Management Team.

* Direct crew though all aspects of production.

* Monitor quality, output and productivity.

Required Skills:

* High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred. 2 years' experience as a machine operator in a commercial or manufacturing operation. Experience operating Co-Mailing or bindery machines strongly desired.

* Must be able to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people

* Must have demonstrated mechanical aptitude and mathematical reasoning.

* Proven ability to work well in team environment and with diverse work group.

* Good communication skills.

* Must be able to perform tasks that require repetitive motion of hands/arms. Requires hand/eye coordination and hand/finger dexterity.

* Must be able to stand continuously and be able to lift up to 10 lbs. regularly, 35 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
