The purpose of this co-op is to allow the student to prepare for their future by applying what was learned during coursework (theory, skill development, professionalism) to the working world. Co-ops will be provided extensive hands-on experience in their field of study. The co-op will work on important and innovative projects alongside our experienced staff and engineers.

Core Responsibilities

* Work with other departments to implement product and process changes.

* Promotes, engineers and helps implement efficient and reliable Lean Manufacturing processes to guarantee efficient movement and delivery of materials and increase productivity and quality in station in support of production rates

* Develops training material and assists in delivery of training sessions and workshops to all levels in the organization

* Continuously drives culture change and acceptance of Lean Manufacturing principles across the organization by communicating and demonstrating the values and practicality of continuous improvement

* Collaborates with operations to improve processes and evaluate and take action regarding day to day material, logistics, and build issues impacting the productions lines

* Frequently follows up with appropriate stakeholders to ensure timely and effective implementation and sustainability

* Communication: Listening effectively, transmitting information accurately and understandably, and actively seeking feedback non-defensively

* Excellent computer skills; proficient in Excel, Power Point, Word and AutoCad.

* Ability to react to issues impacting production with a sense of urgency, promptly assessing the issue and developing a feasible action plan and following it through to successful completion

* Thrives in a team-based environment

Minimum Education and Experience

* Applicants must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering and remain fully enrolled in program during the duration of the internship.

* Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.2

* Prefer a motivated Junior or Senior in good academic standing
