Job Description

Computer Systems Analyst, Senior

Candidate must have the ability to support Operating Systems through basic administration, provisioning of resources, and maintenance of OS patches and releases. Candidate will analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems.

Daily tasks will include:

* Monitoring system and task status; data storage, retention and retrieval; and review and audit of system functions of data communication networks.

* Provide administration and engineering support for layer 2 and 3 network communications throughout the networks.

* Modify Network configuration to add new network services, remove unnecessary or expired services, and enhance existing services.

* Perform immediate troubleshooting as the situation dictates for any and all network outages as reported by users, sensors, and/or operational personnel.

* Have in-depth knowledge and be capable of troubleshooting layers 1-7 of the OSI model in an operational environment.

* Configure, install and replace Network gear as needed.

* Configure, install, monitor, upgrade and maintain information assurance equipment suites (IDS/IPS) and the networks that are protected by those suites.

* Create technical documentation, network diagrams, inventory control documentation, and security documentation to support RMF accreditation process for new technology or service initiatives.

* Provide guidance to more junior team members

* May supervise others


Required Skills

* Windows Server/Active Directory administration experience.

* Proficient in the design, configuration and administration of Microsoft Server 2008 R2 architecture.

* Windows 7 support experience.

* Cisco networking and configuration administration with the ability to achieve CCNA within 2 years.

* Microsoft Exchange 2010 administrative knowledge.

* Information security experience (Windows system hardening, DISA STIG evaluation and application, IAVM/IAVA implementation, and vulnerability scanning and remediation).

* Virtual networking experience.

* Strong troubleshooting skills.

* Ability to be self-motivated, to work independently, and collaborate with others.

* Ability to operate in an embedded Government/Contractor team environment

* Excellent communications and customer service skills.

Required Experience

Master's Degree in Computer Science (or related field) and 10+ years of experience. A Bachelor's Degree and 4 additional years of experience may be substituted for a Master's.
