+ Leads Commission on Cancer (Coca) Accreditation activities including running studies for data analysis.
+ Provides recommendations on studies' protocol feasibility and marketing.
+ Assists the Department Supervisor with Quality Assurance Reviews by providing data analysis to stakeholders and reviewing other team members' data.
+ Suggests opportunities for improvement.
+ Directs the training of new hires. Orients, educates and trains appropriate personnel.
+ Performs accurate and complete case ascertainment.
+ Collects and interprets information on each reportable case.
+ Codes, classifies and indexes stage of disease and treatment information.
+ Maintains a maximum abstracting delay of 6 months from the initial diagnosis/contact.
+ Other duties as assigned.
+ Associate's Degree required.
+ Bachelor's degree preferred.
+ College level Anatomy and Physiology and Medical Terminology required.
+ Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) by the National Cancer Registrars Association.
+ Work Experience:
+ Minimum of five years of experience in case abstraction and successful completion of Coordinator, Tumor Registry II position (consistently maintains productivity and quality assurance targets, demonstrates ability to multi-task abstracting duties and
+ administrative duties).
Personal Protective Equipment:
+ Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
