1.Conduct examinations and provide treatment to patients referred to health center.
2.Discuss plan of care with patient, family, and/or guardian.
3.Implement the procedure for assuring prophylactic antibiotic coverage for patients
requiring such before dental treatment. Maintain records of prescriptions.
4.Takes all precautions to protect patient, self, and staff when operating x-ray machine.
5.Direct duties of dental assistant.
6.Make appropriate referrals when necessary.
7.Participate in group conferences where expertise is required.
8.Provide educational programs for patients and staff.
9.Ensure all patient records are accurate and up-to-date.
10.Provide post-treatment instructions to patient and staff.
11.Consult with Dental Director when equipment needs to be repaired or new equipment purchased.
12.Ensure infection control policies and procedures are followed.
13.Follow the progress of Dental Lab (prosthetic) cases and ensure records are accurate.
14.Attend and participate in meetings, conferences, and trainings to ensure patients are receiving highest quality care.
1.Current New York State license in Dentistry.
3.Knowledge of eClinical Works preferred.
4.Strong organizational and computer skills.
5.Ability to effectually interact with patient, family and/or guardian.
6.Ability to maintain good working relationships with others.
7.Exhibits a high level of professionalism and confidentiality in dealing with patient issues.
8.Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
9.Excellent hand eye coordination
10.Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time
11.Ability to tolerate extensive exposure to computer monitor/screen
12.Ability to tolerate extensive use of computer keyboard
