We are looking for an experienced, creative Design Project Coordinator (all scopes, production-focus) with proven commercial design production ability.

This position is responsible for preparing any and all detailed drawings/graphics/3D production of architectural designs and plans for buildings and structures for all design phases of a project according to the specifications provided, all in support of RQ's Mission, Vision and Values.


Design Process and Procedures 20% of Time (Variable)

Reports status of tasks, workflow, and unresolved items to the DPM/PA on a bi-weekly basis.

Collaborates with the Senior DQCM/DQCM, as required, for accurate development of appropriate construction documentsM.

Assists in the analysis and production of construction documents.

Assists the DPM/design team in all assigned construction administration procedures.

Maintains all electronic and hardcopy design documentation and correspondence.

Design Production 60% of Time (Variable)

Researches codes and regulations, by-laws, and contractual documents to arrive at appropriate design solutions.

Generates project models, scale plans, deliverables, contract documents and project-specific construction details, utilizing an understanding of industry components and systems, under the direction of the DPM/PA, Senior DJC/DJC and/or Senior DQCM/DQCM.

Develops an understanding of the principles of construction documentation to assist in producing contract documents and proposal documents.

Produces proposal exhibits and assists with the development of narratives and associated graphical and technical information.M

Under the guidance of senior team members, coordinates with team members and consultants to generate contract documents and proposal documents.M

Produces and prepares design submittal packages.

Conducts quality control reviews of work by self and Technical Coordinators.

Project Team Contributions and Work 20% of Time (Variable)

Reviews and develops an understanding of the project criteria and requirements (e.g., RFP) and scopes of work.

Facilitates and follows-up with the flow of design project information between the Senior DQCM/DQCM and the project team members

Understands goals of the enterprise, and conveys elements of these goals to other team members.

Explains and conveys the intent of drawings, models, and contract documents to junior staff members.

Participates in weekly Design Production Team meetings and department staff meetings. Offers opportunities for process and standard improvementM.

Assists in the development and distribution of meeting minutes for project meetings.

Performs other duties as assigned and agreed upon with supervisor.M


A Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field is the minimum formal education required for this position.

A minimum of three (3) years in full-time REVIT drafting experience (or equivalent) in a design or architectural office required.

Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Internet, etc.) required.

Specific software literacy (Revit v2011 or higher, ACAD v2011 or higher, Sketchup) highly desired. Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and MS Visio preferred, but not required.

Previous work experience in the construction design-build industry desired.

May be required to lift up to 30lbs. Requires basic office work, including sitting, walking, climbing stairs, kneeling, bending, and operating office equipment that is hand operated. Requires accurate visual ability.
