Job Description

The Application Lifecycle Management Team is part of The Hartfords Infrastructure organization and provides centralized Enterprise Services that designs, enables and manages the DevOps Framework. The DevOps Delivery Framework is central to the continued DevOps & DevSecOps maturity goals of The Hartford. As a member of the team, you will have the opportunity be deeply connected with the evolving trends and capabilities of the DevOps industry. You will be an integral member of a highly collaborative Agile team engaged with the DevOps, DevSecOps and Cloud initiatives at The Hartford.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a key contributor in the continued development of tools, Frameworks & techniques to improve Developer productivity and Quality.
  • Be able to develop and maintain strong relationships with Application Development and DevOps Leadership.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership.
  • Show proven depth and breadth of knowledge of the design and use of Application Development Tools & Techniques.
  • Demonstrate expertise in the design of complex cross functional software systems using disciplined software design processes
  • Employ an engineering mindset to develop a controlled repeatable process.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends in DevOps, DevSecOps & Cloud Capabilities.
  • Partner and support multiple business & technical initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce time to delivery, rework and total cost of ownership while improving the functional and non-functional quality of deployed assets.
  • Demonstrate the ability to recommend, set and enforce development guidelines and best practices.
  • Lead change by influencing and educating business, IT, and sourcing partners.
  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of programming/systems analysis and industry specific business expertise.
  • Experience with Modern JavaScript / JAVA /.NET Development practices
  • Working knowledge of the use & administration of GitHub, Jenkins and SonarQube, Maven, ANT, NEXUS
  • Working knowledge of Maven, ANT, MSBuild and Testing Frameworks (JUnit, NUnit, VSTest/MSTest)
  • Nexus Repository & NEXUS IQ Server experience a plus
  • Knowledge of Testing Frameworks, Grunt, Ansible, Code Quality Tools
  • GitHub & GitHub Flow experience
  • Experience using Agile development methodologies
  • Vendor Management experience
  • Demonstrate advanced business and technical acumen for applications
  • Results driven; with commitment to exceeding customer expectations
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of independence, but is also a team player, a coach, a mentor and demonstrates a high level of ownership.
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Exceptional Documentation skills
