Diesel Engine Technician--In Shop


Pay Type Non-exempt/Hourly


Work Hours 2nd Shift


City De Pere


State WI


Description $1000.00 SIGN ON BONUS AVAILABLE!


Shift: M-F 3:30PM-12AM


Key Responsibilities:


• Perform all duties adhering to Cummins NPower Safety Policies and Procedures


• Provide excellent internal/external customer support encompassing “Customer Support Excellence” philosophy and standards


• Perform troubleshooting and complete repair on engines, chassis and sub-assemblies within a reasonable and expected time frame while maintaining a high level of quality workmanship


• Efficiently remove and install engines in equipment chassis


• Efficiently remove and install components on engines, in and out of chassis


• Efficiently Rebuild engine components


• Accurately document the work performed


• Successfully complete all Cummins required training courses


• Participation in actively keeping work areas clean and safe at all times


• Adherence to the Cummins NPower Business Code of Conduct including setting an example of ethical behavior


• Effectively create, maintain, and develop positive internal/external customer relationships


• Maintain adequate personal tooling


• Other duties as assigned


Functional/Technical Qualifications:


• Two year diesel diploma/certificate or equal years experience in repair of diesel engines


• Detailed knowledge and understanding of diesel engine theory and operation


• Ability to use computer and windows based programs such as Quick Serve On-line, INSITE, and others


• Able to accurately read and follow instructions


• Strong communication skills (verbal/written)


• Have own tools and toolbox


• Possess a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history


• Excellent customer service skills


• Able to read electrical schematics


• Commercial Driver’s license (preferred)


• Requires the ability to effectively and efficiently manage work load


• Willingness to learn from co-workers and train less experienced Technicians as necessary


Physical Requirements:


• Requires ability to safely lift up to 25 pounds often, up to 75 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds on occasion using proper lifting tools/techniques


• Tasks will require bending, stretching, standing, twisting, climbing up and down on equipment throughout the work shift


• Safely operate power tools and equipment while machining, lifting engines or components


• Work environment requires Technician to wear identified PPE at all times


* Sign on Bonus paid out in 2 installments ($500 at 90 days - $500 180 days)
