Operations is one of the largest divisions in the firm and has diverse responsibilities, including correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying and mitigating all operational risks, developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT and e-solutions. Morgan Stanley Investment Management (IM) is the Firms asset management division and offers investment expertise across Public and Private Markets managing a Total AUM of $482Bn as on Dec 2017. The group demonstrates a strong global presence in 20 Countries, 37 Offices, 1946 Employees and 608 Investment Professionals. Investment Management Operations supports the asset management business and performs core operational functions with its innovative capabilities and delivers first class operations to support the changing business needs and enhance the client experience to its fullest.


Director position in the Fund Administration team, reporting to a Vice President. Candidates for consideration will have 5 to 7 years relevant accounting and fund administration experience for a combination of offshore funds, partnerships, US Pooled Trusts, including hedge funds and commodity pools, either with a Big 4 firm or with a major fund family.

Responsibilities:

The position will have involvement in the day-to-day oversight of fund accounting/administration functions performed by various service providers, who will service the fund administration platform. The oversight function includes:

Daily interaction with respective service providers to address issues in areas such as accounting, allocations and pricing

Review daily and monthly partnership NAVs (review profit and loss, expenses, new shareholder activity, partners allocations and performance fee calculations)

Review and coordinate the quarterly 10-Qs, annual 10-Ks and annual audits with the service providers

Review periodic shareholder reports (i.e. monthly statements)

Preparation of fund related money movements, journals, fee payments

Prepare various ad-hoc reports


Accounting degree and/or fund accounting experience


Five to seven years of fund accounting and/or fund administration experience


Knowledge of financial reporting and general compliance preferred


MS Office (Intermediate Excel, Word, etc.)


Role is Hybrid and will require in office attendance 3 days/week. #LI-Hybrid
