Job Description

The Director of Business Development - Logistics is responsible for developing key customer relationships throughout the large carrier and delivery logistics market. He/She/They should be comfortable briefing C-suite leaders and capable of driving sales of Kaman autonomous UAS products. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with experience at a large logistics company in their innovation lab; future operations; planning, or strategic growth group. The BD Director will be fluent in market analysis and an expert at identifying new opportunities.

+ Identifies and develops growth opportunities within the commercial logistics market

+ Coordinates new campaign meetings within the territory. Clears relationship “roadblocks”.

+ Acts as or develops coaches to increase new win rate and retain existing business. Develops and utilizes “field intelligence” effectively.

+ Leads, in coordination with extended Sales Teams, the development of the value propositions to the customer.

+ Participates in, or leads, capture teams as assigned, maximizing Kaman content on key platforms.

+ Coordinates the resolution of momentum business issues raised by the customer resulting in increased customer satisfaction.

+ Manages sales opportunities through the selling cycle resulting in improved win rates and improved business cases.

+ Identifies price to win and supports pricing strategy/plans with the sales teams

+ Keep assigned customers current on Kaman capabilities and represents Kaman to the customer.

+ Develops action plans within the territory in support of Aerospace and Business Strategic Plans. (Develop Specific Tactics which advance Strategic Initiatives as listed within these plans.)

+ Identifies potential partnerships which strengthen Kaman’s systems offerings, which may increase our ability to satisfy customer needs and win new business.


+ Bachelor’s degree required

+ Masters in related field preferred


+ 2 years of related experience required

+ 2 years of experience at large cap logistics provider with revenue of at least $10billion preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

+ Broad knowledge of advanced and technically specialized field such as autonomous air vehicles, logistics operations and future trends.
