Job Description

The Transactions Law Group within Regeneron’s Law Department is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated attorney to draft, review and negotiate a wide range of contracts for the company’s Research and Development teams and to provide them with related advice and counsel. Outstanding transactional skills, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively across the organization, are required for this role, as well as relevant experience handling life sciences and general business transactions and related legal issues.


As Director, Corporate Counsel on the Transactions team, a typical day may include:


+ Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and bringing to execution agreements that are central to the company’s scientific research mission, including those involving research collaborations with academic institutions and other organizations.


+ Reaching out to and coordinating with other Law Department members on specialized subject matter and escalating issues as appropriate.


+ Working collaboratively with the Privacy Office, Compliance, Strategic Sourcing and Procurement and other subject matter experts.


+ Helping to manage the contracting process from request through execution or resolution.


+ Advising internal clients on policies and practices and support the continuous improvement of the department’s contract management system, including the development of new or improved templates and tools in the system.


+ Advising clients regarding all aspects of contract law and related areas.


+ Prioritizing and follow through on a high volume of client requests.


+ Resolving client requests in a professional and timely manner.

+ Have the ability to work effectively and professionally with colleagues and clients at all levels of the organization.


To be considered for this position, you must possess BA/BS and JD with excellent law school credentials. Licensed to practice law in New York or be eligible for licensure as a registered in-house counsel is preferred. Eight to fifteen years of legal experience at a law firm and/or in-house, including experience or familiarity with biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and/or healthcare. Experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry is requied.
