Director of Communications

Overview

The Operations & Technology Director of Communications is responsible for effectively communicating to internal and external audiences the thought leadership and innovation coming out of Mastercard's NYC tech hub and beyond.

Role

* Works with O&T senior leaders and subject matter experts, particularly in the NYC tech hub, to promote Mastercard's technology innovation and strategy to employees, customers, consumers and the market.

* Partners with O&T leaders to inspire, educate and transform employee culture via creative and strategic communications.

* Collaborates with O&T and WW communications teams to develop and hone messaging and media strategies.

* Works closely with executives to assess business goals and corresponding communications needs; provide strategic communications counsel; facilitate messaging and training; and develop & present creative, engaging and results-oriented communications plans.

* Builds and implements speakers' bureaus for multiple thought leaders within the O&T tech hub, including calendars, conference/event placement, presentations, speeches, podcasts and videos.

* Preps subject matter experts for media interviews, speaking opportunities and presentations.

* Creates and manages multiple communications campaigns from start to finish

* Plans and coordinates internal and external communications with regions and other tech hubs across the globe, working collaboratively with communications professionals in various regions, divisions, locations and time zones.

* Manages PR, video, and creative agencies to plan events, sponsorships, media campaigns/tours, and meetings.

* Translates technology language into digestible content for employees and external audiences

All About You

Exceptional written and oral communication skills

Ability to work with senior executives and uphold and represent Worldwide Communications standards

Deep knowledge of and experience working with business and technology media

Experience translating business strategy into creative, engaging communications that meet business objectives and drive quantifiable results

Track record leveraging a broad range of digital media to engage multiple audiences

Superior teamwork and collaboration skills

Ability to coordinate and manage cross-functional projects

Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree in public relations, journalism, or a related degree

Previous experience in public relations, media relations and employee communications in an agency and/or corporate setting
