In this role, you will:

  • Define and conduct all required training
  • Participate in projects aimed at expanding process capabilities to ensure HSE issues are properly addressed
  • Ensure compliance with air, water, waste and other environmental regulatory requirements and permits.
  • Support compliance assurance systems (e.g., preparation of regulatory outlooks and reports, analysis of new regulations, preparation of regulatory interpretations, and preparing applicability determinations).
  • Be present during work execution to identify and resolve potential safety issues
  • Lead or participate in process safety reviews, risk assessments and change management processes
  • Implement corporate-level HSE initiatives

Required Skills/Experience:
  • Familiarity with chemical handling and manufacturing operations
  • Experience or interest in acquiring regulatory knowledge (e.g., process safety management) and developing competency with respect to regulations governing chemical manufacturing processes
  • The ability to learn quickly, multitask and prioritize work
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
  • Good judgment, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to interpret, summarize and communicate complex information to achieve results

Education and Experience:
  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or equivalent degree
  • 2-6 years of relevant engineering experience/education in a chemical processing environment
