Entry-level professional with broad theoretical job knowledge. Works under general direction and guidance within standard processes for non-routine tasks. Communicates with contacts in own team to explain and interpret information. Contributes to systems and processes changes in work routines. Works to achieve operational targets that impact team results.

Essential Functions:

+ Design and develop electrical/electronic design concepts and implement concepts into finished working designs. Work from specification requirements, design concepts and inputs from customer and other engineers involving multidisciplinary activities.

+ Create circuit board schematic, part selection, design cabling, develop or specify test methods and associated test equipment.

+ Assist in all phases of FPGA firmware engineering life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, verification, integration, and documentation

+ Support the test and debug of FPGA RTL code to establish validity of designs for thermal, voltage, and timing tolerances.

+ Prepare and present internal and external design reviews, PDR and CDR activities to demonstrate the design meets all specifications and customer requirements.

+ Assist in in the preparation of planning documents and understand customer requirements and expectations.

+ Capable of performing design analysis and establish circuit level tests to establish validity of designs including thermal effects and contributions of tolerance.

+ Review master patterns for printed circuits, provide part selection, specify cabling, develop or specify test methods and associated test equipment.

+ Capable of providing technical supervision and training/mentoring to lower level engineers.

+ Analyze equipment design for reliability and maintainability (R&M) design aspects.

+ Provide feedback to the design team related to tradeoffs and issues regarding R&M.

+ Assist in in the preparation of planning documents and understand customer requirements and expectations.

+ Participate in the development of technical publications for electro-optical equipment; to include general description, troubleshooting, assembly, installation and preventive / corrective maintenance procedures.

+ Ability to support field service activities related to product testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

The L3Harris manufacturing area includes; temperature and humidity controlled assembly areas, ESD sensitive floors, DOD Secret cleared rooms, a Test and Integration tower, Optical and Laser test ranges, Environmental and Qualification Test capabilities, Hydrostatic pressure test systems, an anechoic test chamber, 1,800 sq ft of clean room space for FOD-sensitive optical assembly, and more! The facility also features an open-office work environment and a full-service eat-in café!


+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering or related field

+ 3.0 GPA or greater

+ Eligable to gain U.S. security clearance

Preferred Additional Skills:

+ FPGA background a plus

+ Familiar with VHDL, Xilinx, TIVA, DSPs, Vivado Constraints, ILA, VIO, Gigabit Transceivers, CameraLink, I2C bus, SPI, CAN bus

+ Experience with Microsoft Access, Word, Visio, IBM DOORS requirements

+ Systems engineering

+ Excellent written/verbal communication skills

+ Experience with Microsoft Access, Microsoft Office, and Abobe Illustrator
