Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Officer

Securitas Security Services is currently looking for Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Officers to work at an assigned client site. Responsibilities may vary for an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Officer may vary between specific client sites, but general responsibilities include responding to emergency situations with the appropriate decision(s) based on the situation.

Everyday Job Functions:

  • Maintains all required Personal Protective Equipment knowledge and licenses needed
  • The ability to follow post orders, granting access to the necessary individuals and denying it to anyone whom is not supposed to be admitted while protecting both the premises and assets.
  • The ability to take long strolls whether on foot or in a vehicle around the premises, in search of unexpected things as well as recording safety data.
  • Reports anything suspicious that happens from the first moment of arrival to the moment of relief.
  • Preserves order at the job site and maintains post orders with Helpfulness, Integrity and Vigilance.
  • Administers first aid treatment to and arranges for transport of sick or injured persons to medical facility, working as member of emergency medical team.
  • Determines nature and extent of illness or injury, or magnitude of catastrophe, to establish first aid procedures to be followed or need for additional assistance, basing decisions on statements of persons involved, examination of victim or victims, and knowledge of emergency medical practice.
  • Administers prescribed first aid treatment at site of emergency, or in specially equipped vehicle, performing such activities as application of splints, administration of oxygen, treatment of minor wounds or abrasions, or administration of artificial resuscitation.
  • Communicates with professional medical personnel at emergency treatment facility to obtain instructions regarding further treatment and to arrange for reception of victims at treatment facility.
  • Provides protective services by making periodic tours to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment.
  • Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents.
  • Prepares logs and reports as required.

Job Requirements

An Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Officer will need to meet and continue to meet the state requirements for the EMY at the basic level or above. In addition, other requirements for an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Officer include:

  • With or without reasonable accommodation, the physical and mental requirements of this job may include the following: seeing, hearing, speaking, and writing clearly. Occasional reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling. Frequent sitting, standing and walking, which may be required for long periods of time, and may involve climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain. Additional physical requirements may include, frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county and municipal licensing and permit requirements for Security Officers and armed security work and specific protective device and weapons qualifications.
  • Works in environments and under conditions that require carrying authorized weapons and ammunition, the use of protective gear and devices, and awareness of personal safety and safety of others.
  • Required to utilize rapid and effective judgment in responding to unusual or emergency situations using appropriate escalation of force level.
  • Experience in physical security, military service, law enforcement or a related field, sufficient to meet the minimum requirements for state and local licensing and/or site standards as established by the company.
  • Meet and continue to meet the state requirements for EMT at the basic level or above.
