Position Purpose

The Project Coordinator 2 reports to a Systems/Platform PM or an Engineering Supervisor, and with the Program Manager is responsible to coordinate all activities related to the projects assigned.

These responsibilities include leading multi-disciplined teams through the Product Life Cycle (PLC). The Coordinator is accountable for all hardware procurement to support all testing and customer shipments. This position may have contact with both suppliers and customers.

In addition, this level may lead Minor Scope PLC projects of low complexity and risk with oversight from a Program Manager.

Essential Functions

* Create and maintain project schedules using project management tools

* Manage and track Project Schedule, Budget, and CTC (within PLC process), and report out at project status meetings and project reviews, as needed

* Coordinate/track and expedite all hardware needed to support testing and customer shipments

* Read and execute MRP to meet schedule requirements

* Track and update resource requirements for all assigned projects

* Facilitate project issues with various functional areas of the company and with suppliers and customers

* Lead project status meetings and maintain action item lists

* Coordinate and review Engineering Changes for assigned projects

* Assist with Gate presentations and WPDS management

* Engage in independent contact with Customer

* Lead department and/or cross-functional team in process improvement activities

Other Functions

* Support profit planning as necessary

* Support SPAP and PPAP activities as required

* Identify and work to resolve all conflicts encountered on assigned projects

* Prioritize work assignments in support areas for development projects

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentations

* Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management inside Woodward

* High level of competency in the use of PC's and associated software (MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

* Strong knowledge of WISE / SAP applications such as Bill of Material, Engineering Change, and Planning screens

* Complete understanding of PLC process

* Ability to effectively operate and lead in a project team environment while receiving low level project management oversight

* Responsive and comfortable working in a dynamic environment and effectively driving critical cross-functional tasks

* Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize tasks on multiple projects

* Ability to lead the department and team on process improvement activities

* Ability to effectively operate and lead in a project team environment

* Aware of customer needs and relationship

Education or Formal Training

* High School degree or International equivalent required

* Bachelor degree or International equivalent preferred

* Lean and formal problem solving training preferred

* APICS Certification preferred

Experience Required

* Minimum of 5 years experience in similar job function (e.g. Development Project Coordination, Production Planning, NPI Processes)

* Manufacturing processes knowledge desired

* Some travel may be required

PC and related equipment

Working Environment/ Physical Activities Work is generally performed in a normal office environment; however, the job will take them into various areas of the plant where there is a possible exposure to noise, chemicals, dust and temperature variations. Some travel may be required.
