Engineering Projects Manager
**Associate Project Manager, Engineering**
Under broad direction, you will be responsible for all phases of planning and execution on multiple small (typically less than $10 million total installed cost) major project(s) or may be responsible for a segment of a larger project.
This position is located at a client site in Hayward, CA. No Per Diem or Relocation will be offered.
+ Plans, organizes, coordinates and controls projects in accordance with the established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approved by the company.
+ Has responsibility for day-to-day contact and communication with the client and focuses on providing client satisfaction.
+ Possesses knowledge of industrial process facilities.
+ Job role has budgetary type of accountabilities.
+ Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred.
+ 7-10+ years related experience
+ Project Management Experience a plus
+ Excellent communication skills and ability to function as an individual lead
+ Strong interpersonal skills, communications & ability to collaborate.
+ Ability to lead multiple projects/tasks and drive projects to completion with strong operability to support reliable, high-quality production.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite required and experience with Microsoft Project, SAP, and/or other project management tools preferred.
+ Provides Monthly Reports of Progress/Activity
+ Works with Contract Manager(s) to develop metrics (cost, schedule, productivity) and develop mitigation plans with Project Team, Contract Manager, or other properties as appropriate
+ Works to develop/implement a continuous improvement plan to drive engineering
+ Has technical capability to provide minor design support to minors as well as project management skills to manage projects as assigned
+ Provides/coordinates site information to the Home Engineering Office as necessary for execution of projects or general plant support
+ Works with plant staff or has the capability to search Plant Document database to find relevant documents
+ Does field investigation as necessary for disciplines at Home Office
+ Coordinates meetings as necessary with site staff
+ Capable to manage a small site engineering support team as the site develops
+ Work is located at a chemical plant and requires exposure to ambient temperature extremes
+ Work may require using and wearing personal protective equipment such as fire-retardant clothing, hearing and eye protection, hard hat and steel-toed boots
+ Day-to-day physical requirements involve standard office activities including sitting/standing for extended periods of time, attending meetings, use of keyboard and mouse repetitively, lifting and carrying less than 20 lbs. frequently, etc.
+ Work requires moderate physical exertion including walking to operating areas and walking up stairs
+ May require walking the project property
