**Position:**


**Engineering Technician IV (2nd Shift, 3pm – 11:20pm)** : A highly skilled, experienced, electro-mechanical technician is required to support prototype component assembly, construction of test fixtures, system upgrades, system maintenance, test execution and data collection. This role will contribute directly to the successful development of new, large-area, precision semiconductor equipment. A successful candidate will perform machine testing and maintenance on precision Implant and Etch tools. Take direction from management staff (Physicists and Engineers), and be able to provide independent expertise to accomplish tasks as necessary. Knowledge of RF plasma systems, high current and medium current implanters preferred but not required. Must have the ability to communicate and interact with Engineers and gather, maintain and interpret data accurately. Additionally, tasks will include HV electrical, high vacuum, mechanical troubleshooting, and tool rebuilds as well as calibrations, particle, metals testing, and demonstrations.


**Responsibilities:**


+ Able to work 2nd shift, 3pm – 11:20pm. This shift includes a 10% shift differential.


+ Work closely with product engineers to support R&D engineering projects.


+ Perform qualification testing, document test results, and write comprehensive reports to document performance of new sub-assemblies.


+ Using engineering drawings and guidance from the lead engineer, assemble, test, and deliver operational test fixtures and prototype electro-mechanical assemblies.


+ Install prototype assemblies on an existing systems for test and evaluation, ensuring that the assembly is properly installed and wired.


+ Test, evaluate, troubleshoot and diagnose electronic and electro-mechanical issues.


+ Develop proficiency in operating lithography equipment.


+ Make measurements, perform tests, collect and tabulate data as required by the lead engineer.


+ Meet assigned project schedules.


+ Use various diagnostic equipment such as volt meters, oscilloscopes and precision mechanical measuring devices.


+ Maintain rigorous lab notes and communicated findings clearly.


+ May be required to travel to evaluate issues in the field, assist in escalations from product support or perform testing at customer sites as required.


**Skills and Experience:**


+ 7?10 years’ technician training/experience in a high technology area. Associate’s Degree, preferred.


+ Minimum of 2 - 4 years of experience in assembly, integration and calibrations of semiconductor capital equipment, Implant, Etch or equivalent equipment in a clean room.


+ Or, a minimum of 5 years of experience in the assembly, test, troubleshooting, and repair of complex electro-mechanical assemblies.


+ Minimum of 2?3 year’s semiconductor experience.


+ VCS training on VIISta tools, preferred.


+ An understanding of electrical circuitry.


+ Ability to follow clearly prepared instruction and provide the requested result (e.g., assembly installation or data collection).


+ Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, interconnection diagrams, wiring schematics.


+ Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems in components or on the larger system.


+ Ability to troubleshoot electrical wiring and communications problems.


+ Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
