This is an exciting opportunity in Indianapolis, IN for an Executive Assistant, General Counsel and Office of Corporate Secretary. Cummins USA is where you can work on industry leading projects. The Executive Assistant for General Counsel (GC) and Office of Corporate Secretary will serve as critical support for the GC, Corporate Secretary and Assistant Corporate Secretary. In this role you will assist in coordinating and implementing support functions of the Office of the Corporate Secretary which may include some interaction and/or assist in scheduling meetings with board members. Your impact will happen in these and other ways: Understands the annual business cycle and anticipates the GC, Corporate Secretary and Assistant Corporate Secretarys needs regarding preparation for and scheduling of activities; manages their calendars; schedules meetings, calls and other interactions based on the priorities of the team. Develops an understanding of the GC, Corporate Secretary and Assistant Corporate Secretarys work styles and preferences; assumes responsibilities as requested by the team. Schedules travel (both domestic and international); applies for appropriate visas; completes expense reports in a timely manner. Understands business etiquette; establishes excellent working relationships with members within the department, other stakeholders/customers both inside and outside of Cummins. Manages email and other correspondence, responding on behalf of the GC and Office of Corporate Secretary where appropriate, forwarding communications to appropriate staff to respond, or bringing the matter to their attention. Uses appropriate tools for required work; ensures that all documents produced for the team are of the highest quality, accuracy, and completeness. Works with the GCs staff to ensure that business decisions are made in a timely manner while balancing the GCs other responsibilities and commitments; assists in scheduling staff meetings; arranges meeting space or virtual meeting tools; arranges catering (when appropriate); assists in any follow-up actions when necessary. Initiates, develops, leads and participates in improvement processes; actively participates in self and team audits. Understands the structure of the organization and maintains a strong network across departments; draws on network to answer questions, solve problems, and successfully execute responsibilities. Prepares documentation for payment of vendors, consultants and suppliers; submits request for payments into accounting system; approves transactions; may approve staff expense reports and other payment requests. Data Analytics - Interprets information relying on knowledge of business or functional frameworks and leverages analytical problem-solving tools to draw conclusions and communicate meaningful patterns that drive business insights; assesses quality of data as an initial step of the analysis. Other required skills: Exceptional interpersonal customer service/relations skills, displaying a high degree of diplomacy, tact and professionalism. Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and handle critical and sensitive information. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure. Superior organizational and planning skills including attention to detail. Focused, positive attitude, proactive. Superior written and verbal communication skills and high proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Strive to meet and exceed expectations; intuitively understand stakeholder; anticipate needs and provide value. Ability to multi-task, set priorities and be flexible with last minute changes. Possess a global mindset global awareness/sensitivity to culture; understanding different cultural norms and expectations. Be solution focused take ownership of requests and work to tailor solutions to the member/situation and be timely in follow-up. Experience Five to seven years of experience in a high-level executive administrative support role. Required Education, Licenses or Certifications Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience. Compensation and Benefits Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
