Executive Chef | 16" On Center

One of Chicago's leading hospitality groups is seeking an experienced, creative, consistent people-person to be a creative culinary leader.

The function of the Executive Chef is to create and execute all food menus. You are responsible for all creative and systematic operation of the kitchen. Such execution includes oversight of the kitchen management team, ensuring all aspects of the day to day functioning of the kitchen are performed correctly. This leader shall set the standard of excellence in food for the staff through constant gentle pressure on the kitchen crew. The Executive Chef will further lead by example of positivity, flexibility, and courtesy.
 

Summary of Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintain a dynamic and seasonal menu which is expressive of your individual cooking style and reflective of the concept in conjunction with ownership
  • Ensure accuracy of purchase and inventory entry using our online system
  • Manage food cost of goods sold
  • Oversight of all sous chefs who handle chef prep, expo, and private events
  • Collaborate with Private Events Manager to create a high-quality event experience for all private events
  • Oversee training of all kitchen staff
  • Manage back of house payroll rate and labor costs
  • Appear at offsite events and handle press inquiries
  • Oversee hiring/terminations of kitchen staff in conjunction with group's HR Manager
  • Work to achieve company net income objective via weekly financial review with our group's VP of Finance/Controller
  • Attend weekly manager meetings
