As an FEA Engineer at Oculus, you will take a critical role in bringing reliable virtual reality to our customers and the world. You will collaborate with design and architectural teams to implement design for reliability upstream in the product life cycle by creating and implementing accurate analyses with respect to static and dynamic finite element analysis. You will be responsible for appropriately characterizing materials to ensure accuracy of the models. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to perform characterization as a feedback loop into analytical models. The position's coverage includes opportunities to influence new architectural technologies and go-to-market systems as well as provide guidance to our contract manufacturer's simulation teams.

Responsibilities

* Generate dynamic, structural, static, and thermal-mechanical analysis of mechanical assemblies

* Own and drive material characterization and testing to support modeling efforts

* Create innovative methods for analyzing behavior of difficult to observe and measure phenomenon

* Own, drive, and execute consistent methods of modeling across programs

* Communicate analyses results to cross-functional teams and collaborate with teams on design for reliability

Minimum Qualifications

* MS or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent discipline

* 3+ years of experience in FEA

* Experience in dynamic Finite Element Analysis of consumer electronic assemblies

* Experience with reliability tests including (but not limited to) mechanical, shock, vibration, drop, and collisions

* Experience managing multiple tasks

Preferred Qualifications

* ANSYS or Abaqus knowledge

* Experience in MATLAB or equivalent scientific programming languages

* Experience on consumer electronic products

* Dynamic, structural, and static experienced
