Job Summary: Provides assistance directly to the Project Superintendent on-site and is responsible for maintaining on-site construction documentation and researching, developing, designing, analyzing and managing assigned construction projects to ensure quality while minimizing costs.


Responsibilities:


+ Acts as a liaison between Project Superintendent and subcontracts/vendors on assigned construction project.


+ Processes administrative work in the field including the weekly reporting of all field labor and equipment usage and other required paperwork to keep the project progressing on schedule.


+ Interprets drawings and specifications; reviews and checks engineering drawings, plans, computation, estimates and reports and assists in the resolution of field issues.


+ With Project Manager and Superintendent, evaluates methods of construction and implements use of new technologies, cost saving techniques/materials, and improved safety procedures.


+ Endures safe working environment; adheres to the general safety plan.


Minimum Qualifications:


+ Valid Drivers License


+ Past years of experience in construction engineering will be a plus.


+ Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to present technical information in simple terms; ability to listen effectively; ability to read technical materials, blueprints, plans and government documents; and ability to write a variety of reports.


+ Basic math such as geometry and trigonometry; ability to sketch and graph assigned project.


+ Ability to prioritize workload; ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions.


+ Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team environment; ability to be flexible in work assignments and assimilate and understand information in a manner consistent with the essential functions. Required computer skills include; word processing, and spreadsheets.


Education:


+ Requires a BS degree (or working toward said degree) in Construction or closely related field Related similar experience is similar construction may be substituted.
