The Role: Pure Technologies, a Xylem brand, seeks to hire a Senior Field Technician/Engineer in our Mexico City location.

The successful candidate will lead operations personnel in planning and field implementation of leak detection and condition assessment services; related to asset management of water and wastewater infrastructure.

The Senior Field Technician/Engineer position necessitates a strong engineering and pipeline/construction management background with an affinity for mechanical functions. The ideal candidate for this position will also possess a demonstrated ability to effectively lead and utilize time management skills, necessary for overseeing on-site inspection crew members, scheduling field support staff for assignments, and writing technical inspection plans.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

  • Lead, supervise, and train inspection teams

  • Develop intimate knowledge of specific technologies to be deployed in complex inspections

  • Review pipeline drawings and plans for system operation and inspection risks

  • Work with Project Managers to plan and implement pipeline inspections using specific technologies while educating them on tool limitations

  • Write Internal Planning Documents for projects clearly identifying technology/inspection risks

  • In-pipe inspection and live deployment of Pures technologies

  • Significant travel may be required

  • Perform mathematical calculations (pipe slope, stationing, flow rates, velocity, pressure, head, etc.); prepare and revise inspection plans and reports for multiple technologies

  • Organize and maintain a variety of files and records; work logically and systematically with good time management and superior judgement

  • Respond to question and inquiries from management in a timely fashion

  • Exercise sound judgement to manage risk and expectations with project stakeholders

  • Leadership qualities including conflict resolution, open & honest communication, good character, ability to inspire confidence, commitment, courage, discernment, focus on priorities, initiative, excellent listening skills, passion, positive attitude, problem solving, acceptance of responsibility, self-discipline, servant leadership, teach-ability, and vision

  • Project management skills, specifically communication and schedule control

  • Proficient in all the Microsoft Office, excel, word, and Power Point

  • Must be willing to travel upward of 60% within the first year

  • Work well within in a fast-paced team environment

  • Accountable to meeting the expectations of internal and external customers

  • Ability to work independently and troubleshoot issues in the field

  • Excellent time management skills. Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines

  • Excellent mechanical aptitude

  • Ability to work outdoors in all elements

  • Ability to lift heavy items

  • Successful candidates cannot have any restrictions on their drivers license that prevent them from driving and being insurable on company-owned or rented vehicles.

Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

  • Degree in Construction Management/ Engineering or other Technical Diploma

  • Minimum 3 years field experience in infrastructure inspections and/or construction projects

  • Experience as leading field teams or managing people preferred plus
