Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Gardener (Equipment Operator)~ without more than normal supervision. Ability to do the work of a(n) ~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common lawn and garden tasks such as mowing etc. I can use fertilizer in lawn care and ground maintenance. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical Effort: The work requires frequent walking, standing, pushing of carts and wheelbarrows, bending and stooping. Occasionally climbs ladders to prune or trim vegetation and frequently lifts heavy objects of 50 pounds or more, such as bags of fertilizer, grass seed, etc. Requires frequent arm and leg movements to operate tractor and manipulate equipment controls. Requires lifting and handling heavy equipment when connecting them to tractor. Working Conditions: Subject to discomforts from long periods in the hot sun, and sometimes chilly or rainy weather. Exposed to dirt, dust, chemical sprays, noise and sever jolting. Exposed to the possibility of cuts, bruises, scrapes and broken bones from falling, getting caught in operating equipment, or collisions with automobiles when operating on or near public roads. May wear protective clothing such as gloves, safety shoes, hard hats, protective eyewear, earplugs and boots.
