General Maintenance Worker
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
+ Replaces electrical receptacles, wires, switches, and fixtures.
+ Uses plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings.
+ Repairs or replaces sinks, water coolers, and toilets.
+ Paints structures and equipment.
+ Repairs or replaces concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks.
+ Replaces damaged paneling and floor tiles.
+ Hangs doors and installs door locks including panic hardware.
+ Performs limited maintenance and minor repairs on small equipment and machinery such as roll-up doors, rolling doors, and motorized automatic gates or doors.
+ Replaces ceiling tiles.
+ Performs minor roof repairs including shingles, and sheet metal flashing.
+ Replaces broken windowpanes.
+ Repairs fencing.
+ Utilizes Safety Data Sheets to identify chemical characteristics.
+ Completes Work Orders daily and accurately.
+ Initiates material requisitions to order parts/materials needed for repairs.
+ Assists with material and labor estimates.
+ Work also involves other duties as assigned, including compliance with the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and Company Policies.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
+ A minimum of five years experience relevant to the job description and working conditions below, performing work involving three or more of the following: HVAC, Plumbing, Carpentry, Masonry, or Structural Trades required.
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
LICENSE & CERTIFICATIONS:
+ Valid Florida driver’s license or equivalent required.
+ A physical exam and respirator fit test may be required (company will arrange).
IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS:
+ (When assigned to Hospital) Evidence or records for the following: an annual PPD or TB evaluation (usually a chest x-ray and questionnaire for those who are PPD converters for the initial evaluation), an MMR if born after 1956, a Varicella (Chicken Pox) history/tier or two shot series, and a Hepatitis B series. If no evidence or records are available, then these requirements will be company provided.
TRAVEL:
+ No travel required.
COMPENSATION:
+ $27.63/hour + $6.40 Health and Wellness Pay.
