**Entry Level General Worker**
International Paper is the world’s largest paper and forest products company. Primary businesses include paper and packaging products. The Jackson Box Plant currently has openings for Entry Level production workers at our manufacturing facility located on Hwy 49 in Richland, MS. The Jackson Box facility is a three shift – 5-day operation.
_Starting pay is_ _$16.55,_ _plus off-shift differential_ **pay,** _and increases to_ _$19.64_ _after 90-day probationary period and meeting the minimum qualifications for the position._
As an hourly production worker, you will be directly involved in all aspects of producing corrugated boxes. This includes assisting operators in the operation of all machines in a safe and efficient manner in order to produce a quality product. All applicants must be able to communicate consistently, openly and effectively within your team, other shifts and departments as well as with supervision. Applicants must be willing and able to work weekends/overtime as needed and to work any shift.
Specific responsibilities and qualifications include:
+ Must follow all safety rules and procedures:
+ Watch out for crew member’s safety at all times
+ Always follow lock out and tag out procedures
+ Always use personal protective equipment (steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, earplugs, etc.)
+ Must have a safe and stable work history, good attendance record, positive attitude and a desire to produce quality work as part of a team. Experience working in a manufacturing environment a plus
+ Must be able to monitor production machinery/equipment operation to detect problems
+ Ensure product safety:
+ Read factory work orders, print cards, and other documents to learn customer requirements
+ Identifying stock and products that correspond to work orders
+ Must be able to read a standard tape measure and other measurement/test equipment
+ Perform quality inspections, counts, stacking, and unitizing products according to customer specifications
+ Basic computer skills to accurately complete time sheets, reports, and other records
+ Maintain work areas to plant standards of housekeeping (blowing down the machine, wiping off shafts, cleaning ink systems, vacuuming and sweeping the machine area)
+ Lifting may require 25-50 pounds
