SUPERVISOR'S TITLE: Manager, HR Technology



PURPOSE OF POSITION: To analyze, design, implement and maintain moderately complex computer-based systems associated with Human Resource Information. To provide consultative advice and support to human resource employees and client groups. To serve as an expert project resource on HR implementations and modification projects.


* Technical

Serves as a technical resource for the Human Resources Department. Provide computer support and third-tier problem resolution. Work closely with IT to facilitate the implementation of individual projects as assigned.

* Project Management

Participate as functional lead in the project management of HR projects. Consult with departmental staff and Information Services in determining requirements for computer based systems. Lead effort to document and validate functional requirements. Participate in the developing and managing of individual project plans. Establish tasks and durations for functional project teams on projects assigned. Facilitate project teams as they pertain to assigned projects. Provide input to developing departmental policies and procedures as they relate to information systems.

* Functional Project Lead

Serves as functional project lead to design, develop, implement, and support technical solutions in collaboration with HR teams. Collaborate with HR teams in the evaluation of systems and technology and recommend appropriate computer technology to support team requirements.

* Process Improvement

Utilizes a high degree of creativity and foresight in order to overcome obstacles and find innovative ways to improve efficiency of HR processes and software in a controlled, disciplined environment. Consistently exhibit a high level of competency using systems and applications. Participate in improving organizational performance by working with HR teams to recommend areas of approaches for improvement activities, performing new procedures, collecting data and providing input where support is needed.

* Testing

Develop test plans as well as oversee development/develop test cases that will validate system implementations and modifications of projects assigned.

* Continuing Education

Maintain currency in the field through continuing education, literature and seminars. Implement this knowledge into the department.

* Training

Evaluate project training needs and develop training strategies, standards and objectives for individual project implementations. Prepare oral and written presentations. Conduct instructional seminars.

* Project Training

Evaluate and determine proper method of training delivery for new implementations or modifications.

* Documentation

Design, write and prepare complete user documentation including system training manuals for department systems implemented.

* Reporting

Prepares statistical summaries and reports from Human Resource Information System involving all HR related data. Efficient in the use of various tools available for report development.

* Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Business, Human Resources OR Related Discipline

* 5 years of experience analyzing, programming, designing, testing, and implementing systems
