Housekeeping Supervisor Department: Property Management Schedule: Full Time Shift: Evenings Hours: Monday-Friday with rotating weekends 4pm-1230am Job Details: Supervises work activities of evening cleaning personnel for the Property Management Department. Position reports to the Environmental Services Director. Meets organizational expectations as defined by the Employee Standards of Performance, hospital and department policies and procedures, and the hospital's strategic goals. Verbalizes a clear understanding of continuous quality improvement and customer satisfaction measures and actively participates in improvement initiatives. Assigns team members their duties, and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness. Inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies. Issues supplies and equipment to workers. Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and takes corrective action. Screens job applicants, helps director hire new employees, and recommends promotions or dismissals. Conducts orientation training of new employees, explaining company policies, housekeeping work procedures, and demonstrates use and maintenance of equipment. Attends training seminars to perfect housekeeping techniques and procedures, and enhance supervisory skills. Records data concerning work assignments, personnel actions, and time cards, and prepares periodic reports. Attends periodic meeting with suite owners to ensure suites are clean, and to make recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operation. May create reports concerning suite expenses and department expenses. Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure smooth operation of the organization. Preferred : Leadership ability; strong focus on customer service; good independent judgement. Required : Ability to get staff to work together to accomplish tasks. Ability to provide guidance and direction to staff, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance
