We?re looking for a HR Manager to provide support to our employee population in San Francisco - someone who is passionate about finding ways to best support our growing Cover family. The HR Manager is primarily responsible for supporting employees and leaders in the various businesses we operate in. You will partner with our operations team on various stages of the employee lifecycle from talent management, performance management, onboarding/offboarding, and business driven initiatives. In addition, you will help create and implement processes to help scale our company.

A successful candidate will be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt as new priorities come up. Exceptional communication skills, time management, and attention to detail are key attributes in this role.
+ Participate in leadership meetings to diagnose and solve talent and organization problems
+ Advocate for your functional teams and represent their needs to senior leadership
+ Promote a culture of feedback and open communication, reinforcing our mission and core values
+ Support individual and team development as well as provide guidance to support the high growth and need to become more efficient and effective
+ Responsible for the administration related to the various HR systems; tasks may include compliance processes, payroll, benefits administration, and process administration.
+ Serve as a primary first-response resource for general employee and/or manager inquires
+ Collaborate within the People Ops team to create efficient processes and reduce manual transactions.
+ Keep current with industry conditions, pay rates and benefits to ensure the firm's competitiveness
+ Contribute to the documentation of People Ops process and procedures, and establish a routine maintenance schedule for content updates.
+ Work cross-functionally to shape and evolve Cover?s new Hire Onboarding experience.
+ Other responsibilities include the coordination of special projects, reports, or other HR-related assignments/tasks, as needed
+ 5+ years experience in HR
+ Experience supporting a workforce of 75+
+ Experience working at a startup that is in growth mode
+ Experience in applying human resources concepts, principles, policies, and regulations in the areas of employee relations, performance management, career development, compensation, time and attendance, and employment law
+ Strength in project management from design to execution; ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously
+ Excellent judgement and problem-solving capabilities as well as the ability to make thoughtful decisions
+ Demonstrate the highest level of ethical behavior and maintain confidentiality
+ Knowledge of wage and hour laws as it pertains to payroll processing
+ High attention to detail and strong oral and written communication
+ Interested in learning payroll production and benefit plan design
+ Bachelor degree is required
Nice To Have:
+ 1 year of payroll processing experience
+ 1 year experience with benefit administration
