A Variety of Situations

• Escorted transportation to doctor appointments from an assisted living facility or nursing home

• Sitter services in a hospital or skilled nursing facility

• Caregiving services while residing at independent living, assisted living, group home, CCRC, or skilled

    nursing facility 

• Support following a stroke

• Support following hospital or rehab care

• Respite care for a family caregiver

• Services to ensure safety and security at home

• Alzheimer’s/dementia care

• Help in reducing risk of slips or falls

Socializing & Relationships

• Companionship and friendly conversations; reminisce about the past, viewing family photos, life books

• Answer the door and telephone, take messages or assist with calls

• Set up social functions and visits, including transportation

• Arrange appointments

• Help write letters and read the mail

• Communicate with family members and other healthcare professionals


Indoor Activities

• Stand-by assistance with grooming and dressing

• Physical, speech and occupational therapy exercise reminders

• Participate with hobbies or crafts

• Read (books, periodicals, newspaper)

• Play games or cards

• Rent and watch movies

• Help reduce risk of slips and falls


Outdoor Activities

• Take walks or in some cases Go for a Jog

• Bring in the mail and newspaper

• Garden care and upkeep; coordinate lawn care

and other home maintenance

• Take out the garbage


Homemaker Services

• Medication reminders

• Monitor diet and nutrition

• Prepare grocery list

• Meal preparation and cleanup

• Mail letters, bills, or packages

• Pet care and pet monitoring

• Supervise home maintenance



• Run errands (grocery shopping, dry cleaners, bank, pharmacy)

• Provide transportation to grocery store, doctor appointments, religious activities, bank or social

   activities in client’s car or just go for a drive, sightseeing and reminiscing

• Provide transportation to visit friends and neighbors in client’s car

• Escort to lunch or dinner


Light Housekeeping Services

• Maintain Universal Precautions

• Mop, sweep, and vacuum floors

• Wash and arrange dishes

• Clean kitchen counters and appliances

• Clean bathroom(s)

• Dust, organize, and tidy up rooms

• Make the beds and change the linens

• Wash laundry and put away clothes

• Iron clothes


Sitter Services

Caregivers are available to sit with and monitor a client during

the client’s stay in a hospital or skilled nursing facility.


Overnight Services

Caregivers are available to provide overnight service, in which they

arrive during the evening, assist the client in preparing for bed, and

then sleep in the client’s residence during the evening.

The service assumes a maximum of 12 hours of service per shift.


Couples Care

Caregivers are available to provide services to couples at time and a half pay.

If the caregiver provides services and a care plan to only one person, the single person pay-rate applies.


Discharge/Outpatient Services

Caregivers are available to assist clients during the admissions and/or discharge process from a hospital,

nursing facility, outpatient clinic or from a surgery center.

Caregivers are available to accompany the client to/from the facility and their primary place of residence.

Companion or Personal Care is available to clients PRN in facility’s.  This usually depends on what the facility offers and what the client and family request from RaH.
