Summary Description


Seeking Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatrician for FT faculty position, as House Physician in the Pediatric Oncology/ SCT unit at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New York-Presbyterian, at the Instructor level, with appointment to Columbia University and New York-Presbyterian Hospital, effective July 01, 2021.


Responsibilities will include:


•Direct patient care in collaboration with attending physicians in Pediatric Oncology and SCT , Pediatric Hematology/Oncology fellows, pediatric residents and pediatric nurse practitioners.


•Coverage of Oncology and SCT inpatient services.


•Orientation of pediatric residents to the Pediatric Oncology service, laboratory systems and general day to day processes.


•Teaching of residents and medical students: 1) coordinating educational time and content to facilitate the educational process and flow of the service; 2) didactic teaching of basic oncology subjects.


•Continuity of care and presence on the inpatient unit.


•Coordinate and assist in discharges and admissions.


•Facilitate transfers to and from the PICU .


•Overseeing patient transports.


•Distribution of assignments to pediatric residents and nurse practitioners.


•As needed, will have primary patient assignments.


•Participation in quality and process improvement projects.


•Can participate in research projects.


Schedule:


•Four x 10 hr shifts will be a requirement at times


•As needed, will provide coverage for SCT service nights or weekends shifts.


Minimum Degree Required


Qualified candidates will have an M.D. or D.O. and be board certified or board eligible in Pediatrics


Minimum Qualifications


Must have an active or be eligible to obtain a NYS license


Preferred Qualifications


While interested candidates do not need to have prior Heme/Onc/ SCT experience, pediatric intensive care and/or hematology/oncology experience gained during residency and beyond is preferred.
